Listening alone achieves almost nothing
Why you should read along while you listen, which speed really helps you, and how many words you need to know already for an audiobook to be worth it.
Upload your podcast or audiobook in German and let your tutor Bonnie lead you to fluency.
This is what the app looks like. An audio file is playing, and the text follows it word by word.
All the tools for your audio files are free.

The subtitles follow along as you listen. The app creates them from your audio file, or you upload your own.
When you click a word in the subtitles, it is saved with its translation and an example sentence. You can export your word list as a CSV or Excel file.
Repeat the sentence you have just heard. Speech recognition compares it with the subtitle and marks what differs.
Your words become exercises: flashcards, article quizzes, plurals, synonyms and conjugation.
You listen to sentences from your own audio files and write them down. That way you practise with texts you already know.
The extension translates words on any website and in YouTube subtitles, and saves them to your word list. It is still in beta.
Everything WieGesagt can do is on a page of its own.
